Please Ignore The Scars
Please ignore the scars
Some of them I put there
Most are badges of adventure
Some I wish I could erase
Please ignore the scars
They're white and they are purple
Where my skin and soul have broken
They're memories both fond and frightening
Please ignore the scars
You see them without makeup
Or when I play in shorts
Many cannot hide at all
Please ignore the scars
On stairs and words I've fallen
Always I found a way to stand
The bleeding and the bruises not too deep
Please ignore the scars
I cannot make them banished
But I can deny them power
These marks they don't define me evermore
Please ignore the scars
With stitches and with clockwork
They will heal and they will clear
Until the darkness and the damage fade away.
